I love a good metaphor. I often use food and music as metaphors for design concepts - and the idea that a bed can be visually quiet is appealing to me. If there is going to be anyplace in the house that should be quiet and modest, perhaps it should be the bedroom, the place we all become vulnerable and release ourselves into unconsciousness. We are simply human when we crawl into bed, seeking comfort and rest. 

The quiet bed is not about ornamentation, but it is beautiful. It's beauty comes from the feel of the textiles against your skin; the way the linen, the down and the human body all work simbioticly to produce an ideal environment for a restful sleep.
